Former Missionaries of the Month

December, 2009

During the holiday season, instead of focusing on one missionary, we would like to ask for special prayer for all our missionaries and their families. Our intercession for them is the greatest gift that we can give them at Christmas time as well as all year round.

This year, we sent Christmas cards to each missionary family.  They were signed by members of the different Life Groups. We hope that each family that receives the cards will be blessed and know how much we love them and appreciate the work that they do for the Lord and His kingdom.

We are fortunate here at Anderson 1st to be able to support missionaries all over the world as well as home missionaries in the United States.  We support missionaries in many different areas of the world:  North America, Central America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Philippines.  Our missionaries are involved in a variety of works, including serving as Regional Directors, children’s ministries, youth ministries, ministry to Native Americans, Muslims, college campuses, church planting and anything that is needed to help the people groups that they serve. To be a missionary, you must be ready in season and out of season and flexible to do whatever is required.  What an exciting way to live!!!

Please look at the bulletin board this month to see pictures of some of the people we support.  We continue to ask you to lift them up in prayer and also to continue financial support for these precious sisters and brothers of ours who put their lives on the line every day for the Lord.  Please pray for their children during the Christmas season.

May the Lord bless us so that we can continue to bless them.  Merry Christmas!

She serves the Lord in Cape Town, South Africa through the Assemblies of God World Missions. While teaching at the Cape Theological Seminary she is also a student working on a Masters Degree. Her greatest joy is to mentor and invest in the lives of students from all over the continent of Africa, and even from other parts of the world. She feels greatly privileged to be able to participate in raising strong leaders who will spread the message of the gospel of Jesus throughout the world. Above all else, her main reason for living and serving in South Africa is to see more and more people come to know and love Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

 Points for prayer:

  1. For the students of Cape Theological Seminary, that they will grow and glean all they can during these years of concentrated study.
  2. For CTS during these difficult economic times. The economic situation has affected most every area of ministry.
  3. For ANNOINTING and guidance from the Holy Spirit as she and the other staff members minister to the students.
  4. For a fresh touch of revival on the campus CTS!
  5. Please allow the Holy Spirit to direct your prayers as you pray for Donna and CTS.

Donna’s  prayer is that her life and ministry will always point others to the message of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Please agree with her in prayer during the month of September that her prayer

will be answered and her labor will bring much glory to God.

August, 2009: Fred and Crystal Kovach

The Kovachs have a unique ministry among missionaries.  Their job is to assist missionaries to use technology to take the Gospel where it could not go easily otherwise.  Fred and Crystal serve as media mis

sionaries with Global University, working with the Assemblies of God missionaries  world wide to provide technology tools to reach local communities with the Gospel. They also travel overseas to provide technical support to missionary television studios.

One of their current projects is Globalreach.org,  an evangelism and descipleship website offering material in several languages, including English, French, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, Amharic for Ethiopia, Russian, Hindi and others.

Our 21st century world needs the light of Jesus more than ever! Our missionaries and pastors need technology tools to reach the world. Global University and Fred and Crystal provide the research needed to develop these tools!

Anderson 1st is blessed and fortunate to help support the Kovachs.  As we support them with finances and prayer, we are partnering with them to take the Gospel into all the world.

They are our "Missionaries of the Month" for August.  During this month, please keep them in your prayers.  Feel free to email them at fredk@fredcrystal.com and let them know you are praying for them.  Also check them out at their website: http://www.fredcrystal.com  or their ministry site: http://www.ministry.fredcrystal.com

The Lord of the Harvest is upgrading His Tools to finish His work.  We at Anderson 1st are greatful that we can be a part of this great missionary ministry.
